About F.R.E.S.H. New London

F.R.E.S.H. New London is a not-for-profit organization with goals to implement and guide practical, agricultural projects as a way to educate, encourage, and empower the people of New London towards personal wellness, community health, and environmental stewardship.

Founded in 2005, F.R.E.S.H. New London has quickly established an impressive constellation of community gardens including a garden collaboration with the New London Homeless Coalition, and a large demonstration garden at the Gemma E. Moran/United Way Labor Food Center.

Throughout the past two years, F.R.E.S.H. has worked with twenty New London teens on food security projects. Each year they grow vegetables on the organization’s one acre urban farm and distribute them to social agencies. So far, they’ve distributed a total of 7,000 pounds of fresh produce!

F.R.E.S.H. also partnered with Mitchell College to create a locally-grown, fresh foods market at the historic Michael’s Dairy in New London. The market, currently in its second season, is staffed by F.R.E.S.H. youth workers and runs from July through October.
