The flatbread dining experience is unlike any other in Connecticut! The centerpiece of the open kitchen is our primitive wood burning oven. You won't find a stove or microwave because we only burn wood for our ovens, grill and cauldron. The company is committed to clean food, supporting local farmers and artisans, taking care of the environment, and providing support for charity and volunteerism in our community. We also offer a complete range of menu choices for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free guests.
At flatbread, we know exactly which organic farms our food comes from. We source all of our meats to be free from antibiotics and hormones, and then we make our sausage and pepperoni in house to insure that it is nitrate -free. We burn wood because it is a renewable resource. Our napkins, pizza and salad boxes are 100% compostable. Our disposable to-go cups and silverware is all "greenware" made from corn starch, and we recycle. We host a benefit for an organization in our community every Tuesday Night, We feed volunteers and we sponsor local organizations from local sports teams to the Sierra Club.
"When I purchase local goat cheese from Griffen Farmstead in East Granby, I know I am buying the freshest, cleanest, tastiest product available, but I am also supporting a local business, helping to preserve open spaces, and minimizing my carbon footprint related to transportation of products. The local products we use taste better because there is no nutrient loss associated with transportation and packaging." says Managing Partner Erich Kronschnabel, a Canton resident.
We have many customers who come to flatbread because of what we stand for, but everyone comes back because it is absolutely the best tasting pizza that you can imagine.
