Devon Point Farm

Devon Point Farm raises heritage "ruby red" American Milking Devon cattle for breedstock and gourmet GRASSFED BEEF using rotational grazing and organic and sustainable farming practices. Calves are born on the farm and raised to 24 months only on grass, hay and trace minerals. We use no antibiotics and no growth hormones. Our steers are finished on grass or hay only - no grain.

Devon cattle have the natural genetics for superior performance on grass alone. What this means for you is fine-flavored, tender grassfed beef that is not only healthy for you, but has better taste and texture than grassfed beef from other commercially modified breeds that may not be as well suited to the pasture-only diet that nature intended. Devon grassfed beef is higher in Omega 3 essential fatty acids, lower in cholesterol, and higher in cancer-fighting conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than mass-produced grain-fed beef.

Devon Point Farm's grassfed beef is for sale by the half (one side) or whole steer. The beef is pre-sold with a 50% deposit at special bulk pricing of $5/pound hanging weight and is custom cut to customer specifications. We also offer special introductory samplers of "boxed beef" - a mix of steaks, roasts and ground beef in a 40-pound box for $300 (available on a limited basis). Individual cuts range from $12/pound for sirloin to $24/pound for tenderloin.

All of our beef is slaughtered and butchered locally under USDA supervision, dry-aged for a minimum of two weeks, vacuum cryovac wrapped, labeled with the cut and weight, and frozen.

Our 93 acres in Woodstock, CT are home to one of the largest herds of the rare, heritage breed American Milking Devon cattle. We sell heifers and bull calves for breedstock, steers for oxen teams, and raise the steers for grassfed beef. Our heifers and bull calves are raised to meet a high quality breed standard and are sought after as breedstock for existing and starter herds of Devons.

Devon Point Farm is owned and operated by Erick and Patty Taylor. We welcome visitors to see our cattle by appointment.
